Vanoli: “There is nothing better than playing such an important match in a full stadium”

On the eve of the Day 35 of Serie B 2023/24, when Venezia will face Cremonese at Penzo stadium Friday at 20:30 CEST, the arancioneroverdi coach Paolo Vanoli analyzed the team's situation and the opponent.

“Matches like tomorrow's prepare themselves, motivation comes naturally. We have to give a great performance and give the best of ourselves to win in front of our audience. Having reached this point we have to find the means to win them all, we meet a strong team with category players. Regardless of this match, Cremonese remains one of the favorites in the Playoffs with one of the best defenses in the league. We are a competitive team that has grown a lot and we have to think about our performance, further improving our merits and filing down our flaws. Cremonese dribble very well, the outside players manage to give depth and there are several players who dictate the rhythm of the games. Their soccer is proactive and they arrive at finalization through play. Through the offensive phase and dribbling they also manage to do the defensive phase. We play these games with great concentration, knowing that we have already reached the great goal of the Playoffs and continuing to believe and chase our dream.

It will be one of those important, beautiful games to play for that very reason. In Lecco in my opinion we didn't have a bad first half, at halftime I simply reiterated to my players the dangerousness of games like that against a team that wanted to give everything against Venice. They will all be finals from here to the end, to reach the dream we know we have to score a certain number of points, me and the guys will not give an inch. There is nothing better than playing such an important match in a full stadium, motivation is found on its own in matches like this. To win the key word is "mentality," but you always have to play soccer and give a great performance. We have missed few games on our way, certainly there have been things done well and some not so well but on a technical level we have played some great games. Looking back only serves to improve what is in front of you, in the first leg we did well but sometimes games can take certain directions and they did very well to win it. Today we have become a real team and group that will fight for their dream until the end but I like to think from game to game."
