We always take it one game at a time, trying to collect as many points as possible. Even though we will play three matches in the next seven days, right now it’s time to focus only on Sampdoria. During this period we’ve trained well; it’s been a typical week in which we continued our usual work.

The Blucerchiati have recently changed their coach, so we expect an opponent with a strong emotional reaction. Tomorrow there will be a lively atmosphere and a passionate stadium, it will be a difficult match. The players know this and we have also prepared the game with this aspect in mind. Playing in Genoa is never easy and we know we will face some difficulties.

From an attacking point of view, we often get many players into shooting positions and create chances in a balanced way. This is an important statistic. We can certainly do even more, despite the numbers showing that we have the best attack. The midfield is clearly benefiting from this aspect, but I am sure we still have the potential to improve certain numbers. This week we face Sampdoria, Padova, and Monza. It will be an important period, perhaps the most important, where we will think game by game. We are approaching this period with determination and the desire to show everyone what kind of team we are.

It’s not easy to play every two or three days; we will try to recover as quickly as possible, both physically and mentally. We are in the hands of our staff, who do an outstanding job for us every day in this regard. On the field with the ball, we can play good possession football; we have quality in possession, and this is one of our strengths. Even without the ball, we work hard; of course, certain aspects can always be improved, and every day in training we work towards this.

On Saturday, we face a Sampdoria side with a new coach on the bench, but we will approach the match as always, aiming to take all three points. When I arrived here in Venice, I never thought I could become the captain. I had the chance to follow the great example of Marco Modolo, and now it is a huge satisfaction to wear the captain’s armband.

Throughout the season, our attitude has almost always been positive. Maintaining the right mentality in every game is not simple—take the home match against Modena, for example—but especially in recent matches, we have shown great attitude and a strong desire to win. That’s the secret: we must always have the right mentality.

My injury was not easy to overcome; every player has their own way of bouncing back after such an operation. The first two or three months were difficult, but then there comes a point where you know something has to change, where it’s important to find yourself again in order to return to the field stronger than before. Injuries like this are part of football and are a test that allows you to further improve your performance

Venezia FC announces that it has reached an agreement to extend the contract of midfielder Gianluca Busio, who will continue to wear the arancioneroverde shirt until 30 June 2028.

Having joined the club in the 2021/22 season, Gianluca Busio, 23, has so far made 161 official appearances for Venezia FC, scoring 17 goals and providing 8 assists. A key figure in the club’s promotion to Serie A in the 2023/24 season, Gianluca is now one of the team’s leaders and a central figure in the sporting project, fully embodying the values of commitment, determination and sense of belonging that define the Club.
