Venezia FC are preparing for the away match against Sampdoria scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday 14 March, at 7:30 PM at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium in Genoa. On the eve of the clash, head coach Giovanni Stroppa reviewed the team’s condition and previewed the key aspects of the match.
Giovanni Stroppa, Venezia FC head coach:
“We always take it one game at a time, trying to collect as many points as possible. Even though we will play three matches in the next seven days, right now it’s time to focus only on Sampdoria. During this period we’ve trained well; it’s been a typical week in which we continued our usual work.
The Blucerchiati have recently changed their coach, so we expect an opponent with a strong emotional reaction. Tomorrow there will be a lively atmosphere and a passionate stadium, it will be a difficult match. The players know this and we have also prepared the game with this aspect in mind. Playing in Genoa is never easy and we know we will face some difficulties.
From an attacking point of view, we often get many players into shooting positions and create chances in a balanced way. This is an important statistic. We can certainly do even more, despite the numbers showing that we have the best attack. The midfield is clearly benefiting from this aspect, but I am sure we still have the potential to improve certain numbers. We are not at the top of the table by chance—our current position reflects the strong mentality the team has maintained match after match.”
