The press conference of Giovanni Stroppa

January 9, 2026

On the eve of the first match of 2026, coach Stroppa speaks to the media, delving into the main themes of the challenge against Reggiana. The match, valid for the 19th round of the Serie BKT and the final fixture of the first half of the season, is scheduled for Saturday, January 10 at 3:00 pm at the Mapei Stadium – Città del Tricolore in Reggio Emilia.

Giovanni Stroppa, head coach of Venezia FC:
The break went well; we worked consistently and we’re eager to get back on the pitch. The motivation to resume the path we’ve taken is always the same: to keep improving match after match. We’re having an important season, but there’s always room to improve. We still have a whole second half of the season to play, and we need to be able to maintain the balance we showed during periods when some results didn’t reflect our performances.

Reggiana, in their recent matches, haven’t picked up what they deserved. They started the season well and then suffered a slight dip. Dionigi has done a great job, and tomorrow they will certainly pay extra attention when facing us. We’ll need to be good at making the key moments go our way, keeping our level of focus high in duels. We’ll also need to make as few mistakes as possible, staying concentrated and not gifting chances to the opposition.

The goal for the new year is to keep improving more and more; it’s something that has to be part of our mindset. We’ve adapted well to this league, and in every match we’ve never given up, even if at times we didn’t take home everything we deserved.”
