On the eve of the match against Virtus Entella, coach Stroppa spoke to the microphones about the team’s current form and previewed the game, touching on the main themes of the match. The fixture, valid for the 18th round of the Serie BKT season, is scheduled for Saturday, December 27 at 3:00 PM at the Pier Luigi Penzo Stadium.
Giovanni Stroppa, Head Coach of Venezia FC
“We have the opportunity and the quality to further improve our style of play. We must keep going like this, knowing that we are at the penultimate matchday of the first half of the season and that there is still a long way to go until the end of the campaign. At the moment we are in a good run of form; it is a pleasure to coach this team and a source of pride and satisfaction to work every day with these players.
There are certainly some aspects to improve, because as a coach the requirement is to do both phases of the game correctly, and we are working on that. Football is also made up of situations and technical gestures that can always be refined.
Tomorrow’s match against Virtus Entella will be, like all the others, a difficult one. The opponent is tough, they fight for every ball, and it will not be easy at all to face the Ligurian side. As against Monza and Modena, first and foremost we must try to win our individual duels, and then impose our game. I am pleased that Chiappella is doing well; he comes from my area, I got to know him along the way, and he is having an important start to his career. I wish him all the best.
From a mental point of view, the shared objective provides the right motivation to never let our guard down. My mental approach is not tied to results, but to the performances we are putting in and will continue to put in on the pitch.
At the celebration in Piazza Ferretto last December 22, the closeness of the fans could be seen and felt. The team is performing at a high level, and bringing more than 1,300 supporters to Modena is an important sign. Beyond the result, the team is showing performances of a certain standard, and the response from our fans has always been significant.”
