The press conference of Giovanni Stroppa

November 27, 2025

Two days before the home match against Mantova, coach Stroppa speaks to the press to discuss the main topics of the match and analyze the team's approach to the game. Kick-off at the Penzo Stadium is scheduled for Saturday, November 29 at 3:00 p.m.

Giovanni Stroppa, Venezia FC head coach
In every match, including away games, our performances have always been positive. We certainly played very well in the derby against Padova, but now we must immediately focus our attention on Mantova. It won’t be the same match as in the Coppa Italia: Mantova has numbers that come close to or even surpass ours, so it will be a really difficult game. We’ll need to stay very alert — we will have to work hard.

After the derby, I was really pleased to hear that our fans were waiting for us at the club headquarters; their show of appreciation and passion was a wonderful gesture that brings even more unity to the whole environment. I thank the fans for the special welcome they gave us.

Mantova has begun to bring home the results that reflect what they show on the pitch. I have great respect for Possanzini; he has managed to find the right key to make the team play well. Mentally, Mantova has gained a lot of confidence in its abilities. On Saturday, we’ll face one of the most in-form teams in the league, one that interprets the coach’s playing style in the best possible way.

Looking at these first 15 official matches, I can only be satisfied. We could certainly have a few more points considering our performances, so we must go out and earn the points we haven’t collected so far in the upcoming matches with determination and courage. We need to reduce our mistakes and, above all, be more clinical in the final phase of our actions, in the last third of the pitch.”
