At the end of the match between Reggiana and Venezia FC, valid for Matchday 19 of Serie BKT and ending 1–3 in favor of the arancioneroverdi, head coach Giovanni Stroppa and forward Andrea Adorante analyzed the game as follows.
Giovanni Stroppa, Venezia FC head coach:
“I saw a good Venezia performance, starting from the result, because coming to Reggio Emilia and winning like this is not a given. We knew it would be a difficult match, one that might need to be unlocked through individual plays. Perhaps we could have closed it out earlier; we were a bit too light in the first half, but then we fully deserved the result. When we went down to ten men, I was pleased that we didn’t suffer Reggiana’s desire to score against us; we stayed organized and could even have done something more going forward. During the break I tried to put things back in order, looking to close out the match if the opportunity arose. There is still an entire round to go; today we overtook a direct rival, but we haven’t achieved anything yet.”
Andrea Adorante, Venezia FC forward:
“It was a difficult match today. On some occasions we were too quick to try to finish our moves; their strong pressing forced us to rush some passes and, as a result, exposed us to counterattacks. I’m happy with the goal: after the change of direction I saw another defender coming, so I feinted the shot, cut inside, and curled it across goal. We kept our composure, especially after we were reduced to ten men. This shows how compact and solid we are as a team, particularly at this stage of the season. This attitude gives us confidence for the challenges ahead.”
