After the match between Padova and Venezia FC, valid for the 13th round of the Serie BKT season and ending 0–2 in favor of the Arancioneroverdi, coach Giovanni Stroppa and forward John Yeboah analyzed the game as follows.
Giovanni Stroppa, Venezia FC head coach
“Many times in recent matches we deserved to win and yet went home without the three points; today things finally went the way we wanted. We hope this great victory will give us even more strength to earn as many points as possible in the upcoming games. Despite consistently good performances, we still lack quality up front to make the most of every single chance we create—we could have closed out this match earlier. That said, we did well not to concede, because Padova had their own chances today to hurt us. I was sorry not to have our fans here today; it certainly would have made for a better atmosphere. Now we’ll go to Taliercio to greet them and receive their embrace.”
John Yeboah, Venezia FC forward
“It was a great win; after such a long time, we finally picked up three points away from home again. I dedicate this victory to our fans—let’s keep going like this.
Scoring the second goal today was important; Serie B is a very tough league, and even when you’re two goals ahead you’re never really safe. We’re very happy to have won, we must continue on this path and we’re hungry to do even better.
We’re a team that creates a lot going forward, and Stroppa asks us for a lot of quality in order to make the most of all the offensive actions we create. Compared to last year, I’m playing more minutes; I know I’m very important to the team and I try to help with my plays, just as the staff and my teammates try to help me both on and off the pitch.”
