Ahead of the away match against Lecce, coach Eusebio Di Francesco spoke about the importance of approaching the game with balance, knowing that each match is a crucial piece in the path towards the final objective.

“The match against Lecce won’t be the game of our lives, it would be a big mistake to think that. It’s more accurate to say that it will be the first of a series of important games. We’ve prepared for it with intelligence and balance, knowing that there will be multiple 'games within the game' from a psychological perspective.

We need to go through these next eight matches to reach our final goal, and to do so we need goals, goals from the team, goals as a collective. We must be able to find the goal as a group. In our first direct match, we played a great game and deserved more, but let’s leave the past behind us.

We need to face Lecce with an equilibrated game, fully aware of what we are going to propose. There are many dynamics within the match, and every player is important: at any given moment, an opportunity can arise for any one of them, and they all need to be ready to contribute to the game. The team is growing in this sense, in terms of maturity, and everyone knows they can make a difference, even in five minutes."
