Venezia FC announce the loan of striker Óttar Magnús Karlsson to the Oakland Roots in the USL Championship, the second division in the United States, through December 2022.

Karlsson, 24, arrived from Icelandic top division club Víkingur in September 2020 and made seven appearances with one goal in the 2020/21 season. Karlsoon spent the first half of the 2021/22 season on loan at Serie C club Siena, making 20 appearances with two goals.

Karlsson has earned nine caps for the Icelandic national team.
