Modena-Venezia: post match

September 30, 2023

At the end of Modena-Venezia, Day 8 of the Serie BKT 2023/24 championship, which finished with the result of 1-3, Venezia coach Paolo Vanoli and Christian Gytkjaer analyzed the match as follows.

Paolo Vanoli:
"Today it was not easy to recover from a disadvantage, it was important to redeem ourselves after the loss to Palermo. We did not get down, we improved a lot in this aspect. I congratulate my boys, now let's recover our energy for the next game since we played so much. Until today Modena was unbeaten, they have a lot of quality in the middle of the field and in my opinion they are a well-built team, it takes some patience to assimilate the system of play when there is a new coach. Twinning is a beautiful thing, this is the real sport I congratulate the fans of Venice and Modena. As I always told my boys we also have to drag our people through performance. Playing with the two forwards I like, the guys are working well we have to improve in finding the two forwards. I have confidence in all the players, I want them to always expect to play and be on the ball. Gytkjaer is known to have great experience and flair for goal, Bjarkason after two years in C wants to do well with us in Serie B. I cannot expect to rely only on the starting eleven, I need the whole squad.“

Christian Gytkjaer:
"I am very happy for my goal and the team's win, which was crucial for us after Tuesday's defeat where we had played a good game anyway. Serie B is a marathon you don't win today, we are on the right path. Clearly I always want to play, we have a good group and even those who come in can make a difference. It is still early to talk about goals, the league is very tough and before April nothing is decided, for now it is important to be there at the top and in the future we will see."
