Mikael Egill Ellertsson joins Venezia FC

Venezia FC announce the acquisition of Icelandic midfielder Mikael Egill Ellertsson, following a permanent transfer from Serie A club Spezia. Ellertsson, 20, has signed personal terms through the 2026/27 season.
Coming through the youth ranks of Fram Reykjavík, where his professional career began, Spal acquired Ellertsson in 2018, placing him in the youth sector, before his debut with the first team in August 2021, in Coppa Italia.
Signed by Spezia in 2021, the Icelandic midfielder was left on loan at Spal, where he made seven appearances before rejoining Spezia, collecting 11 appearances in Serie A and two in the Coppa Italia in the 2022/23 season.
