Michaël Cuisance joins Venezia FC

January 3, 2022

Venezia FC is pleased to announce the acquisition of French midfielder Michaël Cuisance, 22, from FC Bayern München. Cuisance has signed personal terms through the 2024/25 season.

Born in Strasbourg, Cuisance passed through the youth systems at RC Strasbourg, SC Schiltigheim, and AS Nancy, before moving to Bundesliga side Borussia Mönchengladbach at age 17.

In 2017/18, Cuisance became the youngest Gladbach player to ever start a Bundesliga match, and he would go on to make a total of 24 league appearances (nine starts) during the year, with his performances earning him the fans' Player of the Season award. Though Cuisance would feature less the following season, making 11 league appearances (one start), reigning Bundesliga champions Bayern München were convinced enough to swoop for him in August 2019.

In his debut season at Bayern, Cuisance made 10 domestic appearances (three starts), with one stunning goal against Wolfsburg in the final round of the league, as the Bavarian giants won the Bundesliga, the German Cup, and the UEFA Champions League in a historic treble-winning campaign.

The following season, Bayern loaned Cuisance to Olympique de Marseille, where he would make 23 appearances (11 starts) with two goals in Ligue 1 along with six appearances (two starts) in the UEFA Champions League.

In the ongoing 2021/22 season, Cuisance had made two substitute appearances with Bayern, one in the Bundesliga and one in the German Cup.

In international play, Cuisance represented France from the Under-16 through Under-20 levels, with 46 total youth caps, including four appearances with two goals and one assist at the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Welcome, Michaël.
