Lion Lauberbach joins Venezia FC

Venezia FC announces that it has reached an agreement with KV Mechelen for the permanent transfer of Lion Lauberbach.

Born in Erfurt, Germany, the 1998-born forward has signed a contract that will keep him at the orange-and-black club until 30 June 2029, with an option to extend until 30 June 2030 or an automatic renewal upon the fulfillment of certain conditions.

Having come through the youth ranks of Rot-Weiß Erfurt, Lauberbach made his first-team debut in the 2017/18 season, making 25 official appearances with 2 goals and 2 assists. In the 2018/19 season he moved to FSV Zwickau, where he made 32 appearances, scoring over 8 goals and providing 3 assists across league and cup competitions.

In the following two seasons he wore the shirts of Holstein Kiel and Hansa Rostock, before joining Eintracht Braunschweig in the 2021/22 season, where he scored 17 goals and provided 8 assists in 70 official matches.

From the 2023/24 season onwards, Lauberbach played for KV Mechelen in the Belgian top flight, making over 96 official appearances and registering 20 goals and 5 assists across the Jupiler Pro League and domestic cup competitions.
