March 26, 2023

At the conclusion of the week-long international break, Venezia FC played Serie D side AC Este in a friendly match held at Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo at 11:00 am today, where the hosts won by the score of 4-1.

In the first twenty minutes, Venezia created several chances, with the visitors being initially confined to their half of the field, but in the 24th minute Menato was able to get the breakthrough for AC Este. Venezia responded with high pressing: in the 35th minute a powerful shot by Johnsen ended up to the side of the net, and Cheryshev’s effort was denied by Agosti, but in the 40th minute a Novakovich header from a corner leveled the match, and Tessmann would score just a minute later to put the hosts ahead.

After the break, the pace slowed down until Tessman's effort in the 58th minute went just wide. In the 62nd minute, Venezia scored their third goal from a corner through Andersen, who took advantage of a scrum inside the box, and Novakovich would score a brace in the 77th minute to close out the game.

Venezia manager Paolo Vanoli commented on the match.

"Today's match was very useful to finish off well a physically demanding week, in particular to allow those who played less to get more minutes and to reward the younger players, who are showing great commitment. The Primavera are training very well, it's right to let them experience the atmosphere of the First Team, they are always needed."
