Director Filippo Antonelli's statement

Filippo Antonelli, Sporting and General Manager of Venezia FC, spoke in the press room of Ca' Venezia today to answer questions from journalists.

Filippo Antonelli:
"The atmosphere within the club, from President Niederauer and the ownership group to the team and the entire staff, is one of great unity, and we are fully focused on our goal.

We are a newly promoted team, and this initial phase of adaptation to the category is part of our growth journey. With the strength of balance, declared at the start of the season, and through the unity of everyone, we must continue along this path to prove that we belong in Serie A.

I expected a competitive league, and to date, despite the standings, Venezia has repeatedly shown that it is up to the level of the category with a clear identity. The performances have been there, but what has been lacking is the result. We are working with the coach to keep improving what we are doing well, while trying to eliminate the mistakes we are still making. The team needs to understand that we must achieve results regardless of the opponent, sometimes even through less impressive performances.

We must always fight, starting with the match against Monza, to turn our performances into results that are useful for our ultimate goal, which is to play in Serie A next season as well.

In Venice, we have started a growth journey that involves both the sporting and business spheres. The Venezia project is continuously growing, and the closeness and unity with our wonderful fans strengthen all the efforts being made. We are fortunate to work in a top-level Sports Center, which is the symbol of a club that invests and believes in the future of Venezia. As for the team, much of last year’s structure has been maintained, and we must not forget that we achieved promotion despite facing some difficulties.

The adaptation process to Serie A shows that we are missing results, but I believe this journey must continue. It’s premature to talk about the transfer market; when the time comes, and if any adjustments need to be made, we will evaluate them. For now, we are fully focused on this group and the upcoming matches.

For me, nothing has changed compared to a month ago. The coach and I work with great unity of purpose and synergy, battling every day to achieve our goal, which is shared by everyone in the arancioneroverde environment, laying solid foundations for the future."
