COACH DI FRANCESCO'S PRE-MATCH PRESS CONFERENCE

January 31, 2025

On the eve of the upcoming league match, which will see Venezia face Udinese at the Bluenergy Stadium tomorrow at 3:00 PM, Venezia head coach Eusebio Di Francesco analyzed the team's current form and the opponent in a press conference.

"Udinese is a very physical team that had a strong start to the season. Their recent results haven’t been in their favor, even though their performances have deserved better outcomes.

They are a team capable of quickly transitioning from defense to attack, and thanks to their physicality, they are very dangerous on set pieces.

We are continuing to build on our work, trying to improve our passing quality while refining the small details that were evident in our last match.

The new signings, Marcandalli and Pérez, can make a significant contribution to the team, if not immediately, then certainly during the match. Marcandalli is a well-structured defender who covers a lot of ground thanks to his speed. Pérez is a technically skilled midfielder, good at linking up with teammates and always looking for the ball. He can play as either a right or left central midfielder and is a versatile option for our midfield.

Zerbin had a great game against Verona, as did Ellertsson, who is an excellent player and fully available. We have many options to consider for tomorrow’s match to field the best possible lineup.

Regarding the attacking phase, I always prefer having a natural striker in the front duo. Right now, I’m not focused on transfer rumors—my priority is the match in Udine."
