Ahead of the upcoming league match, which will see Venezia face Bologna tomorrow at 3:00 PM at the "Pier Luigi Penzo" Stadium, the arancioneroverde coach Eusebio Di Francesco analyzed the team's current form and their opponent in a press conference.
Eusebio Di Francesco
"Compared to the first-leg match, Bologna has made fewer squad changes than we have. We, on the other hand, have made some adjustments in the transfer market and have improved in terms of attitude and teamwork. However, this is not enough: we must continue our growth, even when facing tough matches like tomorrow’s.
Bologna is a team built to compete for a Champions League spot, made up of excellent players well-coached by Mister Italiano. Moreover, they have a highly skilled sporting director, capable of assembling competitive teams wherever he goes, allowing coaches to work in the best possible conditions. They are a strong team, but they will face a Venezia side just as determined to get a result. We are eager to put in a great performance, and we can only achieve that through strong teamwork.
We must not let our guard down—this is crucial from now until the end of the season. There has been positive external communication and signs of growth, but we should only consider ourselves successful once we reach our final goal. Otherwise, everything else will matter very little.
Right now, it is essential to stay in the fight for Serie A survival, and to do so, we must focus only on one game at a time. At this moment, tomorrow's match is all that matters.
I repeat, we must not let our guard down. If we have achieved positive results in the last four matches, it is thanks to specific qualities such as cohesion, solidity, focus, attitude, dedication, and determination. We cannot afford to lose these attributes because they will be the key to achieving success.
At this moment, rather than focusing on individual players, I prefer to emphasize the importance of collective effort. We all need to attack and defend with the same mindset we have shown so far because that is what truly matters."
