ATALANTA-VENEZIA FC: POST MATCH

Eusebio Di Francesco:
“This team has changed a lot compared to previous matches, gaining more and more awareness, understanding, fitness, and cohesion. The only thing we’re missing is the goal. Today we created two or three important chances, but we couldn’t convert them, and that’s exactly the area where we need to improve. Despite that, we put in a great performance, and I want to congratulate the boys.
We must continue to support these players because they are fantastic; they give everything on the pitch, starting from training, and they show great commitment and dedication. I am sure that, with this attitude, the results will come. I also want to praise our fans, who were fantastic once again today.
In the first half, we did well to keep a high line, winning some balls in midfield and breaking forward several times on the counterattack, while in the second half, we withstood Atalanta’s pressure, which is a sign of great growth. The boys did an important job and truly deserve praise.”

Mirko Marić:
“Today, against Atalanta, we all played a great game. When you come to play in Bergamo, you need to be able to defend together, especially during Atalanta’s pressure phases. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to convert the scoring chances we had, but despite that, I believe we are really on the right track.
It was important for us to confirm the great performance against Lazio, and I think we managed to do that today. We have gained confidence, and this gives us the right boost for the final stretch of the season.”
