SERIE C FEM 22/23: VENEZIA 2-0 JESINA

The Venezia FC Femminile returned to winning ways on Sunday afternoon, defeating Jesina by the score of 2-0 at Centro Sportivo Taliercio in Giornata 19 of the 2022/23 Serie C Femminile season.

The match saw the hosts go in front in the 11th minute with Natasha Shirazi, as Ida Lyberg, from a goal kick, was able to easily move the ball forward and set up the forward to finish. Through the rest of the first half, Alice Zuanti had her effort denied by Chiara Generali, and Isabel Cacciamali’s shot perfectly assisted by Ida D’Avino couldn’t get past the opposing defense, with the two sides heading into half-time with the score at 1-0.

After the break, Zuanti scored in the 53rd minute thanks to Chirine Lamti, with the Tunisian elegantly recovering the ball in midfield and setting up her teammate for a beautiful goal at the far post. Venezia would generate multiple chances in the second half, but the Jesina ‘keeper did a good job of denying their efforts until the final whistle.

Next up, Venezia will take on league leaders Bologna at home in the Coppa Italia quarterfinals.
