Venezia FC Women were defeated at home by Como at the end of a hard-fought match that the Leonesse interpreted well for the full 90 minutes.
The team coached by Luis Oliveira started with confidence, managing to keep up with the high tempo set by the visitors and controlling possession in an organized way. The first chance came in the 13th minute when, from a corner taken by Doneda, Willis was unable to find the decisive touch in the box. However, it was only a warning sign before the opener: in the 15th minute it was Willis herself who broke the deadlock, taking advantage of a ball recovery in the opposition half and putting Venezia ahead. The orange-black-green side continued to defend carefully, conceding very little space to Como. The visitors tried to threaten with long-range shots, but Pucova was alert and kept the lead intact until halftime. The first half ended 1–0, with Venezia well-organized and effective in managing the game.
In the second half, Como pushed even higher and found the equalizer in the 60th minute, when Picchi got a touch ahead of Pucova to restore parity. Venezia tried to react, but the visitors kept pressing and completed the comeback in the 71st minute with Moraca, who finished well after an attack developed down the right wing. The Leonesse never stopped fighting and also tried to threaten on the counterattack, while Pucova produced a great save on Giacinti to prevent the third goal. However, in the closing stages Como sealed the match: in the 90th minute Gelmetti caught the Venezia defense off guard with a long-range shot, making it 1–3. Despite the result, it was still a positive performance from Venezia, who managed to compete with the league leaders, showing organization, fighting spirit and good attacking play.
