Francesco Forte to Benevento

Venezia FC announce the departure of striker Francesco Forte to Serie B club Benevento.

Forte etched his place in history last season, scoring a team-leading 15 goals between the Serie B regular season and playoffs as Venezia earned promotion back to Serie A after a 19-year absence in the top flight. In the playoffs, Forte scored a critical deciding goal in a 1-0 win over Lecce in the first leg of the semifinals.

Last month, Forte scored the first Serie A goal of his career against Lazio in Giornata 19. He also struck in the Coppa Italia against Ternana to help Venezia advance to the Round of 16.
