"I believe this team put everything it had on the field to achieve safety, even though unfortunately we didn’t make it.
Today we played a great match, but we paid dearly for a few mistakes. Despite the result, the overall performance today was of a high level.
I'm sorry I wasn’t able to give this extraordinary crowd the gift of staying in Serie A — they were exceptional once again today. Now we need to process this disappointment and from tomorrow look toward the future.”

"The final embrace with the fans truly means a lot: this team gave everything on the pitch, we desperately wanted to stay up, and there is great disappointment in not achieving it.
We know we could have done something more, but we fought until the very last matchday, and that makes missing the target even more bitter.
What remains, though, is the immense affection the people of Venice have shown us. I can only thank them from the bottom of my heart for welcoming me as one of their own. Venezia has given me so much, it saved me, and that’s exactly why it hurts even more not to have been able to keep our place in the division.”
