Serie C Fem 21/22: Venezia 5-0 Jesina

Playing at Centro Sportivo Talierco as their home venue for the first time, Venezia FC Femminile hosted Jesina Femminile in Giornata 7 of the 2021/22 Serie C Femminile season, and the arancioneroverdi ran out to an impressive 5-0 victory, marking their fourth straight win on the campaign, and bringing them to within one point of the top of the table.

Venezia went in front early, when Alice Zuanti took advantage of a mistake by Jesina ‘keeper Chiara Generali and scored in the seventh minute.

A few minutes later, Jesina had the chance to equalize from the penalty spot, but Venezia ‘keeper Alice Pinel parried the shot from Michelle Valtolina.

In the 32nd minute, Venezia doubled their advantage, as forward Karin Mantoani took a pass from Zuanti and managed to hit the back of the net from a tight angle despite Generali getting a hand to the shot.

Just before half-time, Venezia forward Ilaria Mella added a third goal, after taking advantage of a misunderstanding between Jesina’s two center backs.

In the second half, the attacking trio of Mella, Zuanti, and Mantoani picked up where they left off, with Mantoani setting up Zuanti for her second goal in the 48th minute.

Two minutes from time, Mantoani was the provider once again, this time setting up Mella to overtake the ‘keeper and score her second goal, sealing the emphatic 5-0 win.

Venezia’s femminile side will return to action on 28 November as they travel to Isera in Giornata 8..
