This morning, defender Jay Idzes spoke at the press conferenze in VFC headquarter Ca’ Venezia:
“Two weeks ago I got the green light to return to training with the team and I feel good. I was summoned in the last game against Ternana, now I just need to get back into a match rhythm but I feel ready to make my contribution. The day after the game against Parma at the Penzo, I noticed that my arm was swollen and I thought I had suffered a knock during the game. Although it was not a particularly painful thing, I preferred to contact the health staff of Venezia FC who, after examining me, saw fit to take me to the hospital to have tests that showed a venous thrombosis with pulmonary micro embolism. I was never afraid but certainly, at that moment, I was surprised by this news. As soon as I got the okay to start the rehabilitation process, I only thought about getting back on the field as soon as possible.
From my teammates and the whole club I received a lot of support, I realized that I was really part of a beautiful group. Now I am glad to be back to be able to help the team, we are a complete group and hopefully we will all always stay fit and not have any more absences. In the last few months it has been hard to watch the team play without being able to contribute but this has pushed me to give my best to come back even sooner. During this unhappy period I had the chance to go to Indonesia and receive citizenship, which is a great honor for me and I hope to be able to play for their national team someday. Parma is a very strong team, we are aware of that and we are working hard every day continuing the path started months ago with Mister Vanoli and his staff. We don't look at the standings and what other teams are doing, we want to think about ourselves and face match after match.“
