Venezia FC announces that Giovanni Stroppa has been appointed as head coach of the first team. Stroppa has signed a one-year contract through the end of the 2025/26 season, with an automatic renewal in the event of promotion to Serie A.
Born in 1968 in Mulazzano, in the province of Lodi, Giovanni Stroppa began his coaching career after retiring as a player, taking charge of AC Milan’s Primavera team, with whom he won the Coppa Italia in 2010.
He subsequently managed the first teams of Südtirol, Pescara, and Spezia, but it was with Foggia that he earned promotion to Serie B and won the Lega Pro Supercoppa in the 2016/17 season. He moved to Crotone in the 2018/19 season and achieved his first personal promotion to Serie A with the Rossoblù.
In the summer of 2021, he took over as head coach of Monza in Serie B and led the club to a historic promotion to Serie A — the first in the club’s history — defeating Pisa in the playoff final.
On September 19, 2023, Stroppa was officially announced as the new head coach of Cremonese, with whom he secured his third personal promotion to Serie A on June 1, 2025.
Alongside the arrival of Coach Stroppa, the following professionals join the Venezia FC First Team’s technical staff: Andrea Guerra as assistant coach, Fabio Allevi and Andrea Primitivi as fitness coaches, Nicola Dibitonto as goalkeeping coach, and Giuseppe Brescia as technical assistant.
Welcome, Mister.
