Vanoli: “Until the end we have to go out on the field and believe we can make it”

On the eve of the Day 37 of Serie B 2023/24, when Venezia will face Feralpisalò at Penzo stadium tomorrow at 15:00 CEST, the arancioneroverdi coach Paolo Vanoli analyzed the team's situation and the opponent.

"We meet a team with fierce motivation and that has to win by necessity to play for their hopes of salvation. We have to understand well how to face a team on its last legs, we will have to be patient without wanting to overdo it and playing intelligently. As for last Wednesday's match, my biggest regret is that in such a compelling league, something went wrong. I remained calm because I think I have to do my job as a coach to the best of my ability, and I told the boys that we have to be even better, or rather perfect. The team played a great game, even in ten, and we did our duty as we were also recognized by our wonderful fans who applauded us at the airport and I thank them for the long trip they took. If we go and look at our numbers as a team compared to last season we have grown in everything making great strides, but clearly it is not enough, some steps forward have been taken but surely there is room for further improvement and we are working on purpose for that. When you are there to play for something important, the details make the difference and you have to avoid even the smallest mistake.
For the umpteenth time however my boys, as modern players, knew how to interpret the different situations that arose within a match conditioned by so many factors, certainly we made small mistakes that we must try to avoid. When we got off the plane I told the guys that until the end we have to go on the field and believe in it, as long as there is a chance we have to aim for the maximum and we have to be there, let's just think about Feralpisalò right now and then we will see what happens.“
