Catanzaro-Venezia post match

May 1, 2024

At the end of Catanzaro-Venezia, Day 36 of the Serie BKT 2023/24 championship, which finished with the result of 3-2, Venezia coach Paolo Vanoli and Jesse Joronen analyzed the match as follows.

Paolo Vanoli
"It was a strange match, after the rain suspension the field conditions changed and we had to be maybe smarter to adapt quickly. As I always say in this period in particular the details make the difference. The only negative note maybe the expulsion a bit exaggerated on this slippery field, it is good to see a team that even in ten wants to try to win but sometimes maybe you have to have the lucidity to understand that preserving the draw could have been useful. We should perhaps have had more calm and more head, but all games have something to teach us. Catanzaro was good at dribbling and I don't want to take away their merits but the sending off changed the course of the match a bit. Morale though should not be low, we played with our heads held high and we will take this game as a lesson.“

Jesse Joronen
"We tried to do everything we could for the win, obviously we are not satisfied with this result but we have to keep our focus on the next home game in front of our fans. We come out of this competition with our heads held high and our feet on the ground. We absolutely want to thank the fans who came here to Catanzaro for bringing us energy to battle until the end, now we want to start again in front of our people at the Penzo who always give us so much strength."
